Every two years ALMA Laboratory organises interdisciplinary seminars attended by invited foreign lecturers. Their aim is to open a wide interdisciplinary discussion concerning research, protection and restoration of artworks among Czech experts and students.

On November 21-22 Prague will host the 4th ALMA interdisciplinary seminar 2012. Its main subject is Knowledge and experience in the fine art – from understanding materials to technological applications. Please check this site for more information.

For those fond of history we add a short overview of the past three semminars:

The first interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 7, 2006 in the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Its subject was “New Methods and Topics in Artwork Analysis” – see Photogallery + electronic proceedings.

The second interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 3-4, 2008 in St. Agnes Convent. Its subject was “Art and Material Aspects in the Evaluation of the Origin and Age of a Work of Art ” – see Photogallery.

The third interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 24-25 in Břevnov Monastery, Prague. Its subject was "The Story of Art - Artwork Changes in Time". Here you can see the photos.
