Conferences

Every two years ALMA Laboratory organises interdisciplinary seminars attended by invited foreign lecturers. Their aim is to open a wide interdisciplinary discussion concerning research, protection and restoration of artworks among Czech experts and students.


For those fond of history we add a short overview of the past three conferences/ seminars:

The first interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 7, 2006 in the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Its subject was “New Methods and Topics in Artwork Analysis” – see Photogallery + electronic proceedings.

The second interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 3-4, 2008 in St. Agnes Convent. Its subject was “Art and Material Aspects in the Evaluation of the Origin and Age of a Work of Art ” – see Photogallery.

The third interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 24-25 in Břevnov Monastery, Prague. Its subject was "The Story of Art - Artwork Changes in Time". Here you can see the photos.

The fourth interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 21-23 in Strahov Monastery, Prague. Its subject was "Knowledge and experience in the fine art – from understanding materials to technological applications". Here you can see the photos.

The fifth interdisciplinary seminar took place on November 20-21 in Baroque refectory, Prague. Its subject was "Interpretation of fine art's analyses in diverse contexts". Here you can see the photos.

Five proceedings Technologia Artis 5/2006, Technologia Artis 6/2008 and a newly named Acta Artis Academica 2010, Acta Artis Academica 2012 and Acta Artis Academica 2014 related to past conferences have been published. All issues are available.
