Brno (BRQ, LKTB) is an international airport 7.5 kilometers southeast of downtown in Brno-Tuřany. It is served by the public transportation system, taxicab and limousine services. The number of destinations connected is, however, limited. Therefore international airports in Prague, Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG, LKPR) or Vienna International Airport (VIE, LOWW) in Schwechat, Vienna, Austria seem to be more suitable to reach Brno from distant destinations. There are direct connections either from Prague or Vienna airports to Brno via coaches of the Regiojet company approximately every two hours. The use of trains is also possible. Directly from Vienna Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), there are RailJet trains every two hours to Brno (Departure from Wien Hbf at 7:10, 9:10… every odd hour, duration 1hr 26 min). The same RailJet trains are available from Prague Main Station (Hlavní nádraží) with departures every even hour 52, e.g. 6:52, 8:52…, duration 2 hrs 28 min. For more travel information see for example Czech server idos.cz.
Important notice for train users: Starting from the Saturday June 3, 2017 traffic closure at the train station Brno, Hlavní nádraží will be effective.
